The Web 2.0 debate......
Facebook & Twitter
Everybody seems to have their own opinion on
Web 2.0 and whether are not it is worth the time to use in
marketing or if it produces targeted traffic.
Michael Fortin has two blog post on the
subject - one seems to be clarifying his first post. Here are
the post Post 1 -
Post
-2.
Jason Moffat has some strong opinions that
he presents in this video from his "Meat Report" warning
colorful language ahead.
Ed Dale responds to it all with a you tube
video.
Yep Web 2.0 is Big
Of course there is the "Twitter Effect" Dr.Mani is
selling an inexpensive report on using twitter. Here is a
pic of him "working it".
and Finally one more video from Ed Dale
So... what to think of it all?
First I think Web 2.0 is much bigger than most give it
credit for. I opened my stats program and made a post on
twitter & facebook - then I watched the traffic spike.
The fact that anyone can deliver content through audio
(podcast), video & even pdf's through iTunes straight
to a subscribers desktop or ipod/iphone is pretty big.
Sure I believe you should out source a campaign to put
content on web 2.0 platforms (pointing to your "own"
site) and have it socially book marked... if you can.
Does it work? Yes.
It's hard to argue with getting on page one of google
carrying 3 spots in 16 hours. That's
what my efforts earned in the thirty day challenge & it was
not that time consuming.
Look at YouTube & MySpace - everyone that is trying to
reach an audience puts their videos on these and more. People
once used the Internet mostly for email - now they use it for
content.
Ed Dale & Dan Raine delivered the thirty day
challenge via web 2.0 to thousands & thousands of people.
How many signups do you think they got to the Immediate Edge
when they mentioned a price drop on Twitter? The training
they delivered was great even greater was the education you got
from observing their process and tools in reaching the masses
:)
